Nir Rosen is a writer and consultant with extensive experience working throughout the Middle East for the last nine years. He spent four months in Syria during its uprising and also worked in Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Yemen, Turkey, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, Congo, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the former Yugoslavia, Mexico and elsewhere.
He has authored two books. In the Belly of the Green Bird: The Triumph of the Martyrs in Iraq (Free Press, 2006) is a study of the first two or years of the US war in Iraq. His second book, Aftermath: Following the Bloodshed of America's Wars in the Muslim World (Nation Books, 2010) is about sectarianism, civil war, refugees’ occupation, resistance and counterinsurgency from Iraq to Lebanon to Afghanistan.
