Austin Long Interviewed for GlobalPost
October 18, 2012
Austin Long, Assistant Professor at SIPA and SIWPS Member, gave an interview to GlobalPost on the conflict in Syria and the possible response by NATO. Dr. Long noted that the North Atlantic Treaty allows Turkey to ask for assistance if it is attacked, but given the relative strength of the Turkish and Syrian militaries, it is unlikely that NATO would need to get deeply involved. He also discussed the role other international institutions might play, and the likelihood of a political solution.
The interview is available online at GlobalPost.com.
